WoodLtdŽ Mexican Door: mission doors unites past and
present. While exploring the new world, the Spanish brought their
native architecture to the Americas, mixing European architectural
styles with the materials and aesthetics native to the New World.
Historically mission architecture flourished predominantly in
California and the Southwest. Today, the Mission style is enjoying a
renaissance across the United Sates and European Union in new home
construction. In keeping with its tradition of creating stylish and
beautifully crafted wood doors, WoodLtdŽ introduces its newest line
of interior and exterior doors in mission style.
Mission Doors with solid wood flat and
raised panels. WoodLtdŽ Mission wood doors are built in thick solid
hardwood panels. They are available in a wide variety of style panel
designs with Mission sticking. These doors are also available with
applied moldings. Please contact us if you don't see the door you
are looking for. All our door designs are available as exterior and
interior units.
In order to meet the individual needs of homeowners, our Spanish
style doors may have many options to choose from, including varying
door widths. Exterior designs are available in 1-, 2-, 3-, and
4-panel, with 2-panel designs available in flat or planked panels.
An optional 3-panel design is offered with six lites, matching
classic Mission styling. Interior designs include 2-, 3-, and
4-panel, flat or planked, arch or square top.
Because these doors were designed to fulfill a specific market
demand, historical integrity is a priority. Our designers paid close
attention to other building-product markets. WoodLtdŽ allows a
homeowner to create or continue a theme throughout their home,
complementing fine furniture or cabinetry with the same simple lines
and classic styling. For many years WoodLtdŽ has crafted a wide
selection of finely detailed, beautifully designed wood doors.
WoodLtdŽ offers a two-year limited warranty against defects in
materials and workmanship from date of shipment.
Mexico also spelled Méjico,
state, on the Central Plateau, Mexico, almost completely surrounding
the Federal District (which comprises Mexico City). The general
elevation of the state's area of 8,245 square miles (21,355 square
km)more than 10,000 feet (3,000 m) above sea levelensures a cool,
healthful climate, which, with fertile soils and plentiful rainfall,
has resulted in a dense population. The state contains many
preconquest ruins, among them Tenayuca, Malinalco, and the great
centre of San Juan Teotihuacán, covering 8 square miles (21 square
km), about 30 miles (50 km) northeast of central Mexico City. The
state capital is Toluca (q.v.).
Much of the northern part of the state lies in the Valley of Mexico,
or Anáhuac, a circular lacustrine plain and intermontane basin from
which most of the lakes have disappeared, leaving only swamps,
sodden meadows, and lagoons. Chief among these bodies are Zumpango,
San Cristóbal, Xaltocan, Xochimilco, and Texcoco, the latter three
lying partly in the Federal District. The stream flow into and out
of the basin was altered greatly by the opening in 1900 of the
Tequixquiac tunnel, conducting water eventually to the Gulf of
Mexico, and by the system of tunnels and tubes completed in 1951,
which provided the state and the Federal District with drinking
water and hydroelectric power.
Agriculture (cereals, especially corn [maize]; maguey [agave, source
of pulque]; coffee; sugarcane; and fruits), mining, and
manufacturing (including assembly plants, aluminum processing, and
ironworks and steelworks) are the principal mainstays of the
economy. Rail and highway transportation in the state is excellent.
Its population density is the highest of any Mexican state. Pop.
(1990) 9,815,795.
Spain officially Kingdom of
Spain, Spanish Espańa or Reino de Espańacountry located in the
extreme southwest of the European continent. It occupies about 85
percent of the Iberian Peninsula, which it shares with its smaller
neighbour, Portugal. Spain is bordered on the west by Portugal; in
the northeast it borders France, from which it is separated by the
tiny principality of Andorra and by the great wall of the Pyrenees
Mountains. Spain's only other land border is in the far south with
Gibraltar, an enclavethat belonged to Spain until 1713, when it was
ceded to Great Britain in the Treaty of Utrecht at the end of the
War of the Spanish Succession. Elsewhere the country is bounded by
water: by the Mediterranean Sea to the east and southeast, by the
Atlantic Ocean to the northwest and southwest, and by the Bay of
Biscay (an inlet of the Atlantic Ocean) to the northwest. The Canary
Islands, in the Atlantic Ocean off the northwestern African
mainland, and the Balearic Islands, in the Mediterranean, also form
parts of Spain, as do Ceuta and Melilla, two small enclaves in North
Africa (northern Morocco) that Spain has ruled for centuries. The
total area of the national territory is 194,898 square miles
(504,784 square kilometers). The capital is Madrid.
